4、citorsandopampstoproducetherequiredfilteringeffect.Suchfiltercircuitsarewidelyusedinsuchapplicationsasnoisereduction,videosignalenhancement,graphicequilibriuminhi-fisystems,andmanyotherareas.Therearewell-establishedstandardtechniquesfordesigningananalogfiltercircuitforagivenrequirement.Atallstage
5、s,thesignalbeingfilteredisanelectricalvoltageorcurrentwhichisthedirectanalogueofthephysicalquantity(e.g.asoundorvideosignalortransduceroutput)involved.Adigitalfilterusesadigitalprocessortoperformnumericalcalculationsonsampledvaluesofthesignal.Theprocessormaybeageneral-purposecomputersuchasaPC,ora
6、specializedDSP(DigitalSignalProcessor)chip.TheanaloginputsignalmustfirstbesampledanddigitizedusinganADC(analogtodigitalconverter).Theresultingbinarynumbers,representingsuccessivesampledvaluesoftheinputsignal,aretransferredtotheprocessor,whichcarriesoutnumericalcalculationsonthem.Thesecalculations
