2、ortantmarksforhumantoidentifytheirenvironments,becausetheyareclosewithhumanlife,particularlyintheurbanareas.Geographicinformationcanbeexpressedinamoreintuitiveandeffectivemannerwitharchitecturalmodelsbeingmodeledandvisualizedinavirtual3Denvironment.Architecturalmodeldatafeatureswithhugedatavolume,
3、highcomplexity,non-uniformrulesandsoon.Hence,thecostofconstructinglarge-scalescenesishigh.Meanwhile,computersarelackofprocessingcapacityuponalargenumberofmodeldata.Therefore,resolvingtheconflictsbetweenlimitedprocessingcapacityofcomputerandmassivedataofmodelisvaluable.Byinvestigatingthecharacteris
4、ticsofbuildingsandtheregularchangesofviewpointinvirtual3Denvironment,thisarticleintroducesseveralconstructingrulesandschedulingtechniquesfor3Dconstructingofbuildings,aimingatthereductionofdatavolumeandcomplexityofmodelandthusimprovingcomputers’efficiencyatschedulinglargeamountofarchitecturalmodels
5、.Inordertoevaluatetheefficiencyofproposedconstructingrulesandschedulingtechnologylistedintheabovetext,theauthorscarryoutacasestudyby3DconstructingthecampusofPekingUniversityusingtheproposedmethodandthetraditionalmethod.Thetworesultsarethenexaminedandcomparedfromaspectsofmodeldatavolume,modelfactua
6、lity,speedofmodelloading,averagerespondingtimeduringvisualization,compatibilityandreusabilityin3Dgeo-visualization----platforms:ChinaStar,oneChina’sownplatformfor3DglobalGISmanufacturedbytheauthorsofthispaper.Theresultofcomparisonrevealsthatmodelsbuiltbytheproposedmethodsaremuchbetterthanthosebuil
7、tusingtraditionalmethods.Fortheconstructingofbuildingobjectsinlarge-scalescenes,theproposedmethodscannotonlyreducethecomplexityandamountofmodeldataremarkably,butcanalsoimprovingcomputers’efficiency.Keywords:Const
