2、ductsectionwithflexiblewalls(membranes)inaninfinitelylongrigidductconveyingaflowisinvestigatednumericallyusingthematchedasymptoticexpansiontechniqueandthepotentialtheory.Theeffectsoftheinitialvortexposition,themechanicalpropertiesoftheflexiblewalls,andthemeanflowonthesoundgenerationareexaminedi

3、ndetail.Resultsshowthatthepresenceofavortexinsideauniformmeanflowcanstrengthenorattenuatethesoundgeneration,dependingonthephaseofthemembranevibrationwhenthevortexstartsvigorousinteractionwiththemembranesandthestrengthofthemeanflow.Theresultstendtoimplythatthereisahigherchanceofsoundamplificat
