2、hysical,”“chemical,”or“biological”aloneandwhenappliedtonanosensors?Thesequestionsneedtobeansweredattheoutset.Clearly,thestartingpointinthestudyofnanosensorswillbethebasicconceptsofphysics,chem-istry,biology,andnanotechnology.Semiconductorelectronicswi
3、llalsobeintroduced.Thekeytermswillbedefined.Thesewillenablethereadertorecapitulatethepreliminaryknowledgerequiredtounderstandthesubjectmatter.Theywillalsohelptobuildupthevocabularyofthenewwordsofnanotechnologythatthereaderwillcomeacrossinthisbook.Anex
4、haustiverevisionofthesefieldsisnotintended,onlyreminiscesofinterestingphysi-cal,chemical,andbiologicalmaterialsandphenomenawillbeprovidedtohighlighttheinterdisciplinarynatureofthesubject.Thenthemotivationbehindadvancementfrommacro-tomicro-andtonanosen
