2、dimensionalsystemwhichexhibitsobviouschargedensitywave(CDW)orders.Sofar,RTe3withheavierRions(Dy,Ho,ErandTm)arebelievedtoexperiencetwoCDWphasetransitions,whilethelighteronesonlyholdone.TbTe3isclaimedtobelongtothelatter.HoweverinthisworkwepresentevidencesthatTbTe3alsopossessesmorethanoneC

3、DWorder.Asidefromtheoneat336K,whichwasextensivelystudiedandreportedtobedrivenbyimperfectFermisurfacenestingwithawavevectorq=(2/7c∗),anewCDWenergygap(260meV)developsataround165K,revealedbybothinfraredreflectivityspectroscopyandultrafastpump-probespectroscopy.Moreintriguingly,theoriginofth

4、isenergygapisdifferentfromthesecondCDWorderintheheavierRions-basedcompoundsRTe3(R=Dy,Ho,ErandTm).PACSnumbers:78.30.Er,78.40.Kc,75.50.CcI.INTRODUCTIONions(Dy,Ho,Er,Tm)areillustratedtoexperiencetwoCDWtransitions,11whilethelighteronesonlyundergoone.7Thesecondtransitionsoccuratlowertemperatu

5、reswithanestingCollectivephenomena,suchasdensitywavesandsuper-wavevectorwhosemagnitudeisalmostequaltothefirstoneconductivity,areoffundamentalimportanceincondensed∗butorientsatperpendiculardirection,alonga-axis.More-matterphysics.Thecoexistenceandcompetitionbetweenover,thetransitiontemper

6、atureevolvesinanoppositetrendinthemareamongthekeyissuesinanumberofhighlyin-contrasttothefirstone.Angleresolvedphotoemissionspec-terestedmaterials.Chargedensitywaveisasymmetrybro-troscopy(ARPES)revealsthatthefirstCDWtransitionisofkenstateofmetalinducedbyelectron-phononinteractions.imperfec

7、tnesting,thusasecondoneispossibleduetonestingAsthenameimplies,thechargedensityalongwiththelat-oftheremainingFS.Apartfromthat,thegappedareaofFSticedistortionareperiodicallymodulatedatitsgroundstate.causedbythefirsttransitiondecreasesasRradiumdecreas-CDWispredominantlydrivenbynest
