2、C2010AbstractThepresentstudy,basedonapreviousbatch-wiseexperiment,investigatedalab-scalesemi-continuouscultivationofgreenmicroalgaeChlorellavulgaris(UTEX2714),asausefulmeansfornutrientreductionaswellasproductionofalgalbiomasswhichcanbeusedaspotentialfeedstockfortheproductionofbiofuelandothercommo
3、dities,on20×diluteddairymanures.Bothundigestedanddigestedsampleswereappliedinparallelexperimentsforcomparisonregardingtherequirementsofhydraulicretentiontimes(HRTs),removalefficienciesofnitrogen,phosphorus,andchemicaloxygendemand(COD),biomassproductivities,andCO2sequestrationabilities.Itwasdemons
4、tratedthatalgaegrowninundigesteddairymanureachievedremovalratesof99.7%,89.5%,92.0%,+and75.5%forNH4–N,TN,TP,andCOD,respectively,undera5-dayHRT,whilethe+HRThadtoextendto20daysinordertoachieve100.0%removalofNH4–Nindigestedonewithsimultaneousremovalsof93.6%ofTN,89.2%ofTP,and55.4%ofCOD.Thehigherorgani
5、ccarboncontainedinundigesteddairymanurehelpedboostthegrowthofmixotrophicChlorella,thusresultinginamuchshorterHRTneededforcompleteremoval+ofNH4–N.Moreover,algaegrownindigesteddairymanureprovidedmorepenitentialthanthosegrowninundigestedoneinCO2sequestrationpermilligramofharvesteddriedbiomass(1.68mg
