2、ofIndianStandards,afterthedraftfinalizedbythePaints(OtherthanIndustrialPaints)andAlliedProducts,SectionalCommitteehadbeenapprovedbytheChemicalDivisionCouncil.Thisstandardwasfirstpublishedin1953andsubsequentlyrevisedintheyear1969.Thewashabledistemperislargelyusedforgivingdecorative
3、finishontheinnersurfacesofthebuilding.Inthisrevision,theproducthasbeenclassifiedintotwotypes,namelyoilemulsionandplastic,keepinginmindtheavailabilityofsuchaproductinthemarket.Whilefinalizingthisdocument,theconcernedcommitteefeltthatrequirementslikewetscrubtest,washabilityandcleana
4、bilityshouldalsohavebeenincludedinthisrevision.However,duetolackofquantitativedataandnon-availablityofreproduciblemethodsoftest,theserequirementscouldnotbeincorporated.Ithasbeen,therefore,decidedtoreviewthepositionasandwhenappropriatereproduciblemethodsareavailable.Inthisversion,r
5、equirementforconsistencyhasalsobeenmodified.Further,anewrequirementfortemperaturestabilityhasbeenincludedandvariousamendmentsissuedtothisstandardhavebeenamalgamated.AschemeforlabellingenvironmentfriendlyproductsknownasECO-Mark,hasalsobeenintroducedattheinstanceoftheMinistryofEnvir
6、onmentandForest(MEF).TheECO-Markshallbeadministeredby$heBureauofIndianStandards(BIS)undertheBureauoflndianStandardsAct,1986aspertheResolutionNo.71dated20February1991publishedintheGazetteoftheGovernmentofIndia.ForaproducttobeeligibleforECO-Mark,itshallcarrystandardmarkofBISforquali
7、tybesidesmeetingadditionalenvironmentfriendly(EF)requirements.ThecompositionoftechnicalcommitteeresponsiblefortheformulationofthisstandardisgiveninAnnexG.Forthepurposeofdecidingwhetheraparticularrequirementofthisstandardiscompliedwith,thefinalvalue,observedorcalculated,expressingt
