2、iddleEastrespiratorysyndromecoronavi-BACKGROUND:Ebolavirus(EBOV)andMiddleEastrus(MERS-CoV)andEbolavirus(EBOV)respiratorysyndromecoronavirus(MERS-CoV)haveareemerginginfectiousdiseasesthatcur-beenidentifiedaspotentialthreatstobloodsafety.ThisMrentlyarenotconsideredahighormoder-studyinvestig

3、atedtheefficacyoftheTHERAFLEX1,2atepriorityforbloodtransfusionsafetyandavailability.UV-PlateletsandTHERAFLEXMB-PlasmapathogenMostcasesofMERS-CoVinfectionhavearisenintheMid-inactivationsystemstoinactivateEBOVandMERS-CoVdleEast(particularlySaudiArabia)andintheRepublicofinplateletconcentrate

4、s(PCs)andplasma,respectively.3Korea,buttwodocumentedcaseswereobservedintrav-STUDYDESIGNANDMETHODS:PCsandplasma4elerstotheUnitedStates.ThissuggeststhatMERS-CoVwerespikedwithhightitersofcellculture–derivedEBOVmightcontinuetoemergeinWesterncountriesviatrans-andMERS-CoV,treatedwithvariousligh
