5、ithcolleagues,thatthecompilationofalistofacronymsusedintheoreticalchemistrywouldbeausefulcontribution.InitiallistsofacronymsdrawnupbyseveralmembersoftheworkingpartyhavebeenaugmentedbytheprovisionofasubstantiallistbyChemicalAbstractService(seefootnotebelow
6、).TheworkingpartyisparticularlygratefultoCASforthisgeneroushelp.Itsoonbecameapparentthatmanyoftheacronmsneededmorethanmerespellingouttomakethemunderstandableandsowehaveaddedexpranatoryreferencestomanyofthem.Atpresentonlyabout20%oftheacronymsarcaccompanied
