5、ndfunctionalroles.Toaccomplishthisgoaltheassessmentofteethpulpvitalityisveryimportantsinceitwilldeterminetheproceduresthatshouldbeadoptedanddefinethetherapystrategy.Currently,themostcommonlytestsfordeterminingdentalpulpstatearethethermalandtheelectricaltests,whicharebased
6、onnerveresponseand,becauseofthat,havearelativelyhighrateoffalsepositivesandfalsenegativescases.Inthisworkwepresentasimpletesttobeusedintheclinicalsettingforevaluatingnoninvasivelytheexistenceofbloodperfusionindentalpulp.Thistestisbasedonpulseoximetryprinciplethatwasdevise
7、dtoindirectlymeasuretheamountofoxygeninblood.Althoughpulseoximetryhasalreadydemonstrateditsusefulnessinclinicalenvironmentitsusageforthedeterminationofdentalpulpvitalityhasbeenfrustratedbyseveralfactors,notablytheabsenceofasuitablesensortothecomplexshapeofthevariouscorona
