4、versityofTechnologyAbstractThemainchallengeformobileserviceprovidersistheexponentialgrowthofthewirelessdatatrafficandtheincreasingnumberofusers.Thischallengeincreasesthecomplexityofradiobasestationsandpoweramplifiers.Alotofeffortisdonetoincreasethepoweramplifierefficiency,anddyn

5、amicloadmodulationisoneofthesuccessfultechniques.Atunablematchingnetworkisusedattheoutputtoprovidetheoptimumloadforaspecificoutputpower.Avaractor,voltagecontrolledcapacitor,isusedforthefasttuningofthematchingnetwork.Inthisthesisworkahybridvaractordrivercircuitisdesignedandimplem

6、entedtodriveanti-serieshighpowerSiCSchottkyvaractors.ThesehighpowerSiCvaractorscanprovideaveryhightuningratioof6:1atavoltageswingof60V.Twotypesofvaractordrivercircuitconfigurationsaresimulated,implementedandcomparedintermsofimportantfigureofmeritslikedriverDCpowerconsumption,dri

7、verbandwidth,anti-seriesvaractorRFimpedance,anddriverlinearstatictransferfunction.InoneconfigurationahighresistorisusedforbiasingtheswitchingtransistorandintheotherconfigurationagatetosourceconnectedMESFETisusedforbiasingtheswitchingtransistor.ThedesigneddrivercircuithasaverageD
