3、dstatementsareconvincingonlywhenconsideredinthecontextofaninterpretationofadreamasawhole;whentheyarewrestedfromtheircontext,theylosetheirvalue;ontheotherhand,adream-interpretation,evenwhenitisbynomeansprofound,soonbecomessoextensivethatitobscuresthethreadofthediscussionwhichitisintend
4、edtoillustrate.ThistechnicalconsiderationmustbemyexcuseifInowproceedtomixtogetherallsortsofthingswhichhavenothingincommonexcepttheirreferencetothetextoftheforegoingchapter. Weshallfirstconsiderafewexamplesofverypeculiarorunusualmethodsofrepresentationindreams.Aladydreamedasfollows:Ase
