3、ctromagneticallyinducedtrans-parency.Inthispaper,wewillstudytheopticalswitchingbasedonanothermechanism,i.e.,localsingle-excitation-resonanceinducedabsorption.Theaverage-photon-numberdistributioninthesteadystateisstudiedinasystemoftwolinearlycoupledcavitieswithoneofwhichinc
4、ludingatwo-levelatominside,wherethecavitywithouttheatomisdrivenbyaclassicallightfield.Wefindthatthesteady-stateaveragephotonnumberoftheundrivencavitycanbemuchlargerthanthatofthedrivenonewhentheundrivencavityandtheatominsidesatisfysingle-excitationresonance,wenamethisastheloc
5、alsingle-excitation-resonanceinducedabsorption.Sowecancontrolthesteady-stateaverage-photon-numberdistributionofthetwocavities,whichmeansthatourschemecanbeusedasaquantumopticalswitching.Ourfindingpavesanavenuetowardsthecontrolofthephotons,whichmayhaspotentialapplicationinqua

7、-ofaprobebeam,thephysicalmechanismofwhichisreservequantumstatesforalonglifetimeandrarelyin-EITwheretheatomiccoherenceandinterferencecanbeteractwithstaticfieldsfromenvironment.Therefore,usedtosuppressthelinearabsorptionandproducelargephotonsareexcellentcandidateforquantuminf
