2、sityHealthCentre.Themembersrangeinagefrom34to79yearsThe“VirtualPatientParticipationGroup”comprises116members,andthesearefrombothpracticesandrepresentagesfrom21to86years.AdescriptionofwhatstepsthePracticehastakentoensurethatthePPGisrepresentativeofitsregisteredpatientsandwhereacategoryo

3、fpatientsisnotrepresentedthenwhatstepshavebeentakenbythePracticeinanattempttoengagewiththosepatients:ThepracticerecruitedthePPGmembers,andaskedadvicefromthegrouphowbesttorecruitalargernumberofpatientstothe“VirtualPPG”whowouldbewillingtoprovidefeedbacktothePracticeandtakepartinon-linesu

4、rveys.ThePracticewastryingtorecruitmemberstothevirtualgroupbyhavingnoticesinthewaitingroomandaclipboardandpeninthewaitingroomwithasmalldatasheettocomplete,invitingthepatientstocompletetheiremailaddress(andupdateanychangesintheirpersonalcontactdetails)iftheywishedtobecomeamemberofthegro

5、up.ThePPGsuggestedthataswealreadyhaveasignificantnumberofpatientswhohavedemonstratedtheirwillingnessandcapabilityinusingI.TbyrequestingtheirrepeatprescriptionsthroughthefacilityonthePracticewebsite,thenapersonalemailfromDrWall,invitingthemtosignuptothegroupmayhelprecruitment.Thissugges

6、tionwascarriedoutwithanemailcontainingthelinktosignupautomaticallytothegroup,andthishasbeenaverysuccessfulrecruitmentstrategy.Thishasensuredawiderepresentationacrossthepractice.Thepracticecontinuestorecruitmemberstothisgroupby3means:·Alinkonthewebsiteinvitingpatientstosignup·Invitation
