5、omthebandwidthbottleneck.However,opticalwireless(OW)technologyhasthepotentialforbeinganattractivecomplementarytorealizebroadbandwirelessaccessindoors.Recently,indoorOWcommunicationsystemsbasedonlightemittingdiode(LEDs)aslightsourcesandorthogonalfrequencydivisionmultiplex

6、ing(OFDM)asamodu-lationtechniquehavegainedsignificantattention.Forinstance,invisiblelightcom-munication(VLC),inadditiontolighteningcapabilitiesofwhiteLEDs,theycanbemodulatedtoachievehigh-speedwirelessdatatransmission.OpticalOFDM(O-OFDM)systemsareabletosupporthighdatarates

7、throughparalleltransmissionofhighordermulti-levelquadratureamplitudemodulation(M-QAM)symbolsonorthogonalsubcar-riers.Complexchannelequalizersarenotrequiredandthetime-varyingchannelcanbeeasilyestimatedusingfrequency-domainchannelestimation.Adaptivemodulationpersubcarrierc
