2、mecaution,sincethesemeas-urementsaresignificantlyinfluencedbythepropertiesoftheliquidsusedandofthepapersurface.Ourstudycomparesthevaluesofthecontactangleandofthesurfaceenergyoflaboratoryhand-sheetsproducedwithdemineralizedwaterandwithwhitewater(collectedfromthepapermill).Inaddition,andtoas

3、sesstheinfluenceofpaperroughnessonthecontactanglemeasurements,some3-Dtopographicalparameterswerecomputedbyperfilometry.Complementarymeasurementswerealsoperformedwithcommercialpapersamples.Theresultsclearlydemonstratethatthekindofwaterusedinthesheet-makingprocesshasamorepronouncedinfluenceo

4、nthesurfaceenergyofthepapersheetsthanwhetherthepapersheetsweremadeinalaboratorysheetformerorinanindustrialpapermachine.Application:Thisstudyclarifiesfactorsthathaveinfluenceonthepracticaldeterminationofthesurfaceenergyofpapersheetsbycontactanglemeasurements.Theresultsshowtheinfluenceofthew

5、aterusedinthesheet-makingprocessonthesurfaceenergyofpapersheetsandarespeciallyuse-fulforexperimentscarriedoutinthelaboratory.Formanypapergrades,particularlyequationsforthecalculationofsurfacemeasurementsobtainedinlaboratoryprintingandwritingpapers,theenergycomponents[3-5].Nonetheless,hands

6、heetspreparedwiththesamephysicalandchemicalsurfacecharac-themeasurementofthecontactanglepulpfurnish,butusingtwodifferentteristicsareofutmostimportancedependsonmanyfactorsrelatedtothekindsofwater:demineralizedwater(asbecauseoftheirinfluenceonink-paperstructureandtothepropertiesofiscommonpra
