4、yhumanpopulations."Weneedtorecognisetheextentoftheproblemandtakestepstomanagewhatisamajorenvironmentalrisktopeopleacrosstheworld.Ourdatabasewillenableustodothisbyidentifyingareasmostatriskandcouldhelptosavethousandsoflives."TheDFLDincludesonlyfatallandslidesandiscompiledusinganu

5、mberofsearchtoolsandanalysisofgovernmentstatistics,aidagencyreports,andresearchpapers.Itisstilllikelythatthedatabaseunderestimatesthenumberoflandslidesanddeaths.Thedatabaseexcludesdatafromlandslidescausedbyearthquakesduetothehighlevelofuncertaintyassociatedwiththeseevents.Follow
