3、iontoOSCresearch,developmentanddeployment.Thispaperisnotmeanttodescribetechnicaldetails,butwilltrytopresentthecriticalissues,thecomplicatedtrade—offsandinter-relationshipsbetweensubsystems,i.e.,communicationsubsystem,APT(acquisition,pointingandtracking)subsystemandsatelliteinterfacesubsy
4、stem,ofOSCsystem.SinceOSCsystemsareverycomplexengineeringsystems,muchmoresothanterrestrialfiberopticalcommunicationsystems,properdesignapproachsandpracticalsolutionsneedtobetakencarefullyfortheirarchitecturalconstructandanalysis.Breakingdownthecomplexsystemintointeractingbutlogicallysepa
5、ratesubsystemsfortheirconceptualdesignandanalysisisthekeytosuccess.Accordingtotherequestofthewholesystem,wehavestudiedpossibleschemesforapplyinglongwavelengthfibercomponentsincommunicationsubsystem,andapromisingsolutionofAPTsubsystembasedontheelectronic—controlledliquidcrystal(LC)grating
6、.Thispaperincludesacomputersimulationofcommunicationlink,anexperimentof1550nmbandtransceiver,anumericalanalysisofanLCgrating,andaprototypeofAPTassembly,andfinally,presentsresearchconcemingtheperformanceoffibercomponentsexposedinspaceradiationenvironments.Key-words:spaceopticalcommnnicati
