arms,behindthestillsmokingwallsofhercottage;butalsother

newnourishmenttotheirdiabolicalenjoyments;demonscouldnot
possiblyhavedoneworsethingsthanthesesoldiers!Theprincewasof
opinionthatallthiswasright,andthatitwasonlythenatural

Hebroughtenormouswealthhomefromtheconqueredtowns,and
graduallyaccumulatedinhisresidencericheswhichcouldnowherebe
equalled.Heerectedmagnificentpalaces,churches,andhalls,andall

admiringly:"Whatamightyprince!"Buttheydidnotknowwhatendless
miseryhehadbroughtuponothercountries,nordidtheyhearthe
sighsandlamentationswhichroseupfromthedebrisofthe
destroyedcities.
