2、un@infosys.tuwien.ac.atAbstractSystematicmodelingofarchitecturalpatternsisachallengingtaskmostlybecauseoftheinherentpatternvariabilityandbecausepatternelementsdonotmatchthearchitecturalabstractionsofmodelinglanguages.Inthispaper,wedescribeanapproachforsy
3、stematicmodelingofarchitecturalpatternsusingasetofarchitecturalprimitivesandavocabularyofpattern-specificarchitecturalelements.Thesearchitecturalprimitivescanbeusedasthebasicbuildingblocksformodelinganumberofarchitecturalpatterns.WeintroduceprofilesfortheU
4、ML2meta-modeltoexpressthearchitecturalprimitives.Theuseoftheprimi-tivesalongwiththestereotypingschemeiscapableofhandlingsomeofthechal-lengesforthesystematicmodelingofarchitecturalpatterns,suchasexpressingpatternparticipantsinsoftwaredesign.keywords:Archi

6、indthisspecificsolution[14].Sofar,ahugelistofpatternshasbeendocumentedintheliterature[5,6].Thesepatternshavebeensuccessfullyappliedtodesignsoftwareindifferentdomainsandprovideconcreteguidelinesformodelingthestructuralandbehavioralaspectsofsoftwaresystems.
