2、studydi-rectlyusing rstprinciplescalculations,duetothelargeunitcellsandmanyindependentsamplesthatarerequired.Inthiswork,wedevelopacombinedclusterexpansionandatomicdisplacementexpansion,whichwe tto rstprinciplesenergies,forces,andstresses.Wethenusetheexpansiontocalculatether

3、modynamicquantitiesatnearly rstprincipleslevelsofaccuracy.Wedemonstratethatbytreatingalltherelevantdegreesoffreedomexplicitly,wecanachieveimprovedconvergencepropertiesascomparedtoasimpleclusterexpansion,andourmodelnaturallyincludesbothcon- gurationalandvibrationalentropy.In

4、addition,wecantreatcouplingbetweenstructuralandchemicalormagneticdegreesoffreedom.Asexamples,weuseourexpansiontocalculatepropertiesofSi1xGex,magneticMnO,Alwithvacancies,andBaxSr1xTiO3.I.INTRODUCTIONsimpleclusterexpansionscanonlycalculateaverylim-itednumberofproperties.Inp
