3、olutionarybiologythatisbarelyknownwithinpsychology:parentoffspringconflicttheory(POCT).Inthecurrentarticle,wearticulatePOCTforpsychologicalscientists,extenditsscopebyconnectingittothebroaderframeworkoflifehistorytheory,anddrawoutitsimplicationsforunderstandingconflictwithinhumanfamilies.Wespecifical
4、lyapplyPOCTto2instancesofearlymotheroffspringinteraction(prenatalconflictandweaningconflict);discusstheeffectsofgeneticrelatednessonbehavioralconflictbetweenparents,children,andtheirsiblings;reviewtheemergingliteratureonparentoffspringconflictoverthechoiceofmatesandspouses;andexamineparentoffspringc
5、onflictfromtheperspectiveofimprintedgenes.ThisreviewdemonstratestheutilityofPOCT,notonlyforexplainingwhatisknownaboutconflictwithinfamiliesbutalsoforgeneratingnovelhypotheses,suggestingnewlinesofresearch,andmovingustowardthebigpicturebyintegratingacrossbiologicalandpsychologicaldomainsofknowledge.Ke
