3、sphericpressureandambienttemperaturetoproducehighlyuniformfilmswithaweb-likestructurewhichcanbedepositedatrelativelyhigh21depositionrates(ca.1mmzmin).Thepreparationofpowderparticlesandcoatingstartingfromcommercialceramicspecimen(Al2O3)isinvestigated.Highlyagglomeratednanopowdersandhomogeneousmes

4、oporouscoatingsformingaweb-likestructurearepreparedusingthisnewtechnique.Theformationofthenanoparticlesisexplainedfollowingaliquefactionprocesswhichgeneratesanaerosol,followedbythecooling/solidificationofthedropletswhichresultsintheformationofasmoke.Thegeneraldynamicofboththeaerosolandthesmokefa

5、vorstheaggregationprocessandmicrometer-sizedfractal-likeparticlesareformed.Thelasersparkatomizercanbeusedtoproducehighlymesoporousthickfilms.Theporositycanbemodifiedbythecarriergasflowratethusenablingforacontrolofthemicrostructureofthecoatingswhichmakethesenanoparticulatethickfilmssuitablecandid
