3、ysiscapabilitiesoftwosignalstabilityofpowersystemsisconsideredanwidelyusedpowersystemdynamicssimulationtoolsareimportanttask,complementarytotheusualtransientinvestigated,namelyABB’sSimpowandPTI’sPSS/E.stabilityinvestigations.Tostudythesmall-signalstabilityDescriptionsofothersoftwarepac
4、kagesthatcanbeusedofapowersystem,eigenvalueanalysisisused.Intheforeigenvalueanalysiscanbefoundin[4].powersystemsarea,studyingeigenvaluesdoesnothaveaThepaperisorganizedasfollows.Insection2,thehistoryaslongasthatoftransientstabilityanalysisandtheresultsaredifficulttoverifyexperimentally.
5、Itisthereforelinearizationofthenon-linearequationsdescribinganimportanttostudythecapabilitiesofapowersystemelectricalpowersystemisexplained.Then,thedynamicssimulationsoftwarepackageusedforsmall-algorithmstocalculatetheeigenvaluesofapowersignalstabilityanalysiscarefully,beforeapplyingit
6、tosystemasimplementedinSimpowandPSS/Earepracticalproblems.Inthispaper,theeigenvalueanalysisdiscussed.Themodellingofthesynchronousgeneratorcapabilitiesoftwopowersystemdynamicssimulationandofmagneticsaturationinthetwoprogramsissoftwarepackagesareanalysedandtheresultsarecommenteduponinsec
