4、thewidespreaduseofpowersystemcontrollers,suchasPSSandFACTScontrollers,hasledtotheanalysisoftheire ectontheoverallstabilityofpowersystems.ManystudieshavebeenconductedtoallocateFACTScontrollerssothattheyachieveoptimalpower
owconditionsinthecontextofOptimalPowerFlow(O
5、PF)analysis.However,thesestudiesusuallydonotexaminethee ectofthesecontrollersonthevoltageandanglestabilityoftheentiresystem,consideringthatthetypesofthesecontrollersandtheircontrolsignals,suchasreactivepower,current,orvoltage,havesigni cante ectontheentiresystemsta
6、bility.Duetotherecenttransitionfromgovernmentcontrolledtoderegulatedelec-tricitymarkets,therelationshipbetweenpowersystemcontrollersandelectricitymarketshasaddedanewdimension,asthee ectofthesecontrollersontheoverallpowersystemstabilityhastobeseenfromaneconomicpoint
7、ofview.Studyingthee ectofaddingandtuningthesecontrollersonthepricingofelectricitywithinthecontextofelectricitymarketsisasigni cantandnovelresearcharea.Speci -cally,thelinkamongstability,FACTScontrollersandelectricitypricingshouldbeappropriatelystudiedandmodelled.Co
8、nsequently,inthisthesis,thefocusisonproposinganddescribingofanovelOPFtechniquewhichincludesanewstabilityconstraint.Thistechniqueiscom-paredwithre
