3、criptive,andnormativecriteriafortheeval-uationoforganization-scientificreasoningpractices.Thistypologyaddressesbothcognitivelimitsandthediversityofresearchapproachesinorganizationresearch.Wemakethegeneralcaseforincorporatingnotonlythecomputationalbutalsothecognitiveelementintotheformulationand
4、evaluationofscientificreasoningandarguments.Theobjectiveofscholarlyreasoningistojus-Thepaucityofthemethodologicalliteraturetifynewknowledgeinascientificfield.Theonreasoninginorganizationscienceinpartic-creationoforganization-scientificknowledge,ularisstriking,becausequestionsregardingthemorege
5、nerally,hasbeenapproachedfromnatureofhumanreasoninghavealwaysbeenatmanyangles,rangingfromepistemologicalcon-theheartoforganizationscholarship.Theliter-cerns(Moldoveanu&Baum,2002)andtheroleofatureonhowmanagersreasonandmakedeci-theoreticalparadigms(Pfeffer,1993)tosocialsionsisasdiverseasitismass
6、ive:volumesofconstructionofknowledge(Astley,1985)andsci-researchhavebeendevotedtorationalityandentificrhetoric(Ketokivi&Mantere,2010;Mc-theimplicationsofcognitivelimits,suchasCloskey,1998).Conspicuouslymissingfromtheboundedrationalityandbehavioralbiases(e.g.,extantliteratureisamethodological—a
