4、rioustopicsinmathematicalsystemstheory,withparticularemphasisonstochasticsystems,matrixRiccatiequations,androbustandnonlinearcontrol;dualoptimizationmethods,withapplicationstocrewandvehiclescheduling,largescaleoptimizationandpowerplanning;structuraloptimization;andnonlinearprogram-ming.
5、ThedivisionalsohasanOptimizationLaboratorydevotedtocollectingstate-of-the-artoptimizationroutines,makingthemavailabletoresearchinstitutionsandindustry.Foreaseofreference,inthisactivityreportresearchprojectsaswellaspublicationsarereportedeitherundertheheadingofSystemsandControlorunderthe
6、headingofMathematicalProgramming.ThedivisionofOptimizationandSystemsTheoryo ersundergraduatecoursesinmathematicalprogramming,mathematicalsystemstheory,optimalcontrolandcalculusofvariations,mathematicaleconomics,aswellasvarioustopicsinoper-ationsresearchandmodeling.Thereisanactivegraduat
