3、participantresponsestoopen-endedquestionswasconductedtogenerateresults.FindingsThereisasubstantialportionofUSconsumerswhoareunawareofsociallyresponsiblecompaniescomparedwiththeirIndiancounterpartswhofailedtorecognizetheCSRinitiativesofmultinationalcompanies.Qualitativeanalysis

4、showedthat,thoughtherewassomeoverlapinCSRdomainsbetweenthetwocountries,eachsamplealsoidentifieddomainsthatwereunique.Finally,bothcountrysamplesalsoshowedapositivelevelofCSRresponsiveness.Researchlimitations/implicationsThepaperusedaweb-basedquestionnairethatallowedthesampletoco

5、mpriseonlyconsumerswithinternetaccess.PracticalimplicationsThisresearchinformsmultinational(MNC)managersabouttheparityinconsumersconceptualizationofCSRandsubsequentresponse.ThestudyrecommendsthatmanagerscustomizeCSRprogramsinemergingmarketstooverlapwiththetargetmarketspercepti
