2、laceatHeriot-WattUniversity.Schools/Instituteshavethediscretion,inexceptionalcircumstances,todecidetoapplyanopt-outforindividualapplicantswherecircumstanceswouldmakethisinappropriate.TheminimumamountofinstalmentrequiredwillbeagreedbytheFeesWorkingGrouponanannualbasis.Thish

3、asbeensetat£4,000forentryinSession2013/14and£3,500in2014/15.1.Notification1.1Self-FinancingApplicantsRequiredtoPayanAdvanceInstalmentApplicantsrequiredtopayanadvanceinstalmentmustbesentinformationontheprocesswiththeirOfferLetter(seeAppendixA)andinformedthatoffersmadearesub

4、jecttopaymentoftheadvanceinstalmentbyaspecificdeadlinedate.1.2CorporateandGovernmentSponsoredApplicantsApplicantsfundedbyCorporateorGovernmentSponsorswillnotnormallybeaskedforanadvanceinstalment.TheSchool/Institutehas,attheirdiscretion,theauthoritytorequirepaymentofanadvan

5、ceinstalmentortoinsteadrequireafinancialguaranteefromtheSponsorinplaceofsuchpayment.StudentsrequiredtosubmitafinancialguaranteeinplaceofaninstalmentshouldbesentinformationwiththeirOfferLetter(seeAppendixA).2.PaymentoftheAdvanceInstalmentInformationonhowtopaytheadvanceinsta

6、lmentwillbesenttoapplicantswiththeirofferletter(seeAppendixA).Threepaymentoptionswillbeavailable:2.1Thepreferredoption–applicantswillbeencouragedtopayviatheUniversity'sonlinepaymentfacilityusingadebitorcreditcard.Nofeeischargedforthis.Thismethodensuresnext-workingdayreceip

7、toftheadvanceinstalmentandcapturesstudentidentificationdatatofacilitateatimelyturnaroundofconfirmationofstudiesletters.2.2Alternativea)–applicantscanmakeadebitorcreditcardpaymentviathetelephonetotheStudentServiceCentre,whocanthenreceiptthepaymentinrealtime,capturingstudent

8、identificationdata.Thismethodensuresrapidreceiptoftheadvanceinstalmentand,providedstudent
