2、ces,solarandtheoreticaladvantagesofhighercapacityfactor,lowershort-wind,manifestconsiderablevariationintheiroutputlevelstermvariability,andlongerforecastinghorizons,whencompared[5]—solarduetointermittentcloudcover,andwindduetotowindandphotovoltaicsources.Potentialapp
3、licationsofwave-turbulenceandweatherfactors.Yetinstallationofthesegeneratedenergy,inlightoftheseadvantages,include:energysourcesisaccelerating,andtheirvariabilitypresentsservices;regulatingreserves;andcontingencyreserves.Toincreasingchallengestoutilitiesandtransmissi
4、onoperators.providetheseservicesreliablyandeconomically,thetimevariabilityofthewaveenergyresourcemustbeclearlyMeanwhilewaveenergyconversionisstillinthedevelopmentunderstood.Also,theseservicesareprovidedinthecontextofanddemonstrationphase.Thisrepresentsanopportunityto
5、real-timeorday-aheadenergymarkets.TheobjectiveofthisdesignWECs,theiroperationalschemesandtheirinterfacesworkistoassesswhetherthetypicalpropertiesofwaveenergywithutilitygridsformaximumreturn.Amongtheimportantconverters,possiblyenhancedwithsmallamountsofenergyconsidera
6、tionsarethepowerqualityrequirementsonWECs,storage,canresultinenergyproductsthathavehighvalueinasnon-utilitygenerators,andthecharacteristicsofthemarketsthesemarkets,providinghighlyreliable,constantpoweroverinwhichelectricityfromWECswouldbesold.predictableperiods.Weexa
