5、withgoodfidelity,freeofspeckleorinterferenceeffects.However,unlikeimagersthatactivelyilluminateatarget,passivesystemsmustconfrontafundamentaltradeoffbetweendetectionsensitivityandimagingspeed.Thistradeoffarisesbecausethepassivelydetectedpowercontrastofascenehasanupperboundthatisfixedbythetemp

6、eraturedifferencebetweenaperson’sbodyandthelocalthermalenvironment.Thiscontrastworsensatthesubmillimeterwavelengthsneededforhigh-resolutionimagery,wheretheradiometricskytemperatureapproaches300K.Forexample,state-of-the-artroom-temperaturebolometers,whichattainanoiseequivalentpower(NEP)ofafewp
