3、sarecalled“cropcircles”becausetheyusuallyappearinfieldsofwheatorcorn.Thewheatinthecirclesliesonthegroundbutisneverbroken;itkeepsongrowing,andthefarmerscanlaterharvestit.Farmersalwaysdiscoverthecropcirclesinthemorning,sothecirclesprobablyformatnight.TheyappearonlyinthemonthsfromMaytoSeptember.Whatcau

4、sesthecropcircles?Atfirst,peoplethoughtthatsomekidsweremakingthemasajoke,orthatfarmersweremakingthemtoattracttourists.(Infact,in1991,twomensaidtheymadethecirclesthemselves,butmanyscientistsdon’tbelievethem.)Peopletriedtocopythem:Theytriedtomakecirclesexactlyliketheonesthefarmershadfound.Theycouldn’t
