2、ntumrecently.Insuchapplications,allparticipantsareequalpeerssimultaneouslyfunctioningasbothclientsandserverstoeachother.Afundamentalproblemis,therefore,howtoselectreliableserversfromavastcandidatepool.Toanswerthisimportantopenquestion,wepresentanovelreputationsystembuiltuponth

3、emultivariateBayesianinferencetheory.Oursystemoffersatheoreticallysoundbasisforclientstopredictthereliabilityofcandidateserversbasedonself-experiencesandfeedbacksfrompeers.Inoursystem,afine-grainedqualityofservice(QoS)differentiationmethodisdesignedtosatisfythediverseQoSneedso

4、findividualnodes.Ourreputationsystemisalsoapplication-independentandcansimultaneouslyserveunlimitedP2Papplicationsofdifferenttype.Moreover,itissemidistributedinthesensethatallapplication-relatedQoSinformationisstoredacrosssystemuserseitherinarandomfashionorthroughadistributedh

5、ashtable(DHT).Inaddition,weproposetoleveragecreditsandsocialawarenessasreliablemeansofseekinghonestfeedbacks.Furthermore,ourreputationsystemwellprotectstheprivacyofusersofferingfeedbacksandissecureagainstvariousattackssuchasdefaming,flattering,andtheSybilattack.Weconfirmtheeff
