3、tonconductingmembranesofpoly(vinylalcoho1)(PVA)andphosphomolybdicacid(PMA)werepreparedbysolutioncastingmethod.TheeffectofPMAdopingandPVAcrosslinkingdensityonthemembranepropertiesandprotonconductivitywereinvestigated.ThecrosslinkingreactionbetweenthehydroxylgroupofP

4、VAandthealdehydegroupofglutaraldehydefGA1wascharacterizedbvIRspectroscopy.ProtonconductivityofthemembranesincreaseswithanincreaseinconcentrationofthedopedPMAandalsowithanincreaseincrosslinkingdensityofthemembranes.Protonconductivityresultsindicatethatasignificantam

5、ountofPMAwasmaintainedinthemembranesevenafterseveralhoursofimmersioninwater.Amaximumconductivityof0.0101Scmwasobtainedforthemembranewith33.3wt%PMAandcrosslinkingdensityof5.825mo1%.X—raydiffractionstudieswerecarriedouttoinvestigatetheinfluenceofPMAdopingandcrosslink
