3、otably,thegroundstateofthefreetheoryisalsoagroundstateofthefulltheory.Wediscussthelight-conequantizationofgaugetheoriesfromtwoperspectives:asacalculationaltoolforrepresentinghadronsasQCDbound-statesofrelativisticquarksandgluons,andalsoasanovelmethodforsimulatingquantum

4、eldtheoryonacomputer.Thelight-coneFockstateexpansionofwavefunctionsprovidesaprecisedenitionofthepartonmodelandageneralcalculusforhadronicmatrixel-ements.Wepresentseveralnewapplicationsoflight-coneFockmethods,includingcalculationsofexclusiveweakdecaysofheavyhadrons,andi

5、ntrinsicheavy-quarkcontributionstostructurefunctions.Ageneralnon-perturbativemethodfornu-mericallysolvingquantumeldtheories,discretizedlight-conequantization",isoutlinedandappliedtoseveralgaugetheories.Thismethodisinvariantunderthelargeclassoflight-coneLorentztransfor

6、mations,anditcanbeformulatedsuchthatultravioletregularizationisindependentofthemomentumspacediscretiza-tion.Boththebound-statespectrumandthecorrespondingrelativisticlight-conewavefunctionscanbeobtainedbymatrixdiagonalizationandrelatedtechniques.Wealsodiscusstheconstruct
