5、cularconditions.Thepresentstudyexploreshowlibrariesin24leadingUKresearchuniver-sitiesareorganizingresourcesandservicestosupporttheresearchenter-prise.Qualitativedatawerecollectedfrominstitutionalwebsitesandotherpublicdomainsourcesandwereanalysedusingmatrixtechniques.Theresultssh
6、owatrendawayfromintegratedlibraryandcomputingserviceorganizations;varietyininstitutionalreportinglines,butpredominantlyinlargeprofessionalservicegroups;consistencyininternallibrarygroup-ings,butvariationinportfolioandjobtitles;expansionofspecialistposi-tions,withnewfunctionalrol
