3、ethatrepresenttheinsilicoexperimentsorprocessesthatbioinformaticiansperform.Dataintegrationthroughworkflowsdependsonbeingabletoknowwhatservicesexistandwheretofindthoseservices.Thelargenumberofservicesandtheoperationstheyperform,theirarbitrarynamingandlackofdocumentation,however,mean
4、thattheycanbedifficulttouse.Theworkflowsthemselvesarecompositeprocessesthatcouldbepooledandreusedbutonlyiftheytoocanbefoundandunderstood.Thusappropriatecuration,includingsemanticmark-up,wouldenableprocessestobefound,maintainedandconsequentlyusedmoreeasily.Thisbroaderviewonsemantican
