5、levelcognitiveprocesses.Otherparticipantswereinstructedtoengageinmorefamiliaractivitiesathome,suchaslisteningtoclassicalmusicandcompletingwordpuzzles.And,toaccountforthepossibleinfluenceofsocialcontact,someparticipantswereassignedtoasocialgroupthatincludedsocialinteractions,fieldt

6、rips,andentertainment.Attheendofthreemonths,Parkandcolleaguesfoundthattheadultswhowereproductivelyengagedinlearningnewskillsshowedimprovementsinmemorycomparedtothosewhoengagedinsocialactivitiesornon-demandingmentalactivitiesathome.Thethreelearninggroupswerepushedveryhardtokeeplear
