2、llknow,eversince,orevenbeforetheopening-uppolicyandthereformofChina,ChinesestudentshavestudiedEnglishlanguageforaconsiderablelongtime,andgreatachievementsforteachingandlearningEnglishhavebeenseeneverywhereinschools,butforsomereasonoranother,theoralEnglishabilityoftheChinesestudentsisalway
3、saninferioritytotheirotherabilitiesandskills.Frommanyteachers’practice,wehavediscoveredthatthemajorityofstudents,equippedwithlargevocabularyandadequategrammaticalknowledge,stillcannotcommunicateappropriatelyandfluentlywithnativeEnglishspeakersornon-nativeEnglishspeakers.Therefore,howcanwe
4、helpstudentsenhancetheiroralEnglishabilitytoahigherdegree?InwhichwaycanweachieveabettereffectivenessinoralEnglishcourseforstudents?InmodernsocietyEnglishteachinginChinausuallystartsinthejuniormiddleschool;inmanylargecitiesitbeginsintheupperelementaryschool,evenearlierinthenursery.However,
5、eventhemostdiligentstudentswiththemostresponsibleteachersoftencan’tachievecorrectpronunciation,stressandintonation,letalonetheabilitytospeakandunderstandEnglishintheirlifeandthings.Whyisthesituationthatserious?Thatisbecause:first,mostteachersintheclassroomusetheirmothertonguetoexplaingram
6、marandvocabularyinthetextandthentranslatethewholetextinChinese;second,thestudentsareaskedtospendalotoftimelisteningtodetailedexplanationsofthestructureoflanguageinthetext,andengagingindullandde-contextualizedpatterndrills.Mostofthemareratherpassiveintheirstudyandhavingbeenusedtobeingfedwi
