2、bility,whichisameasureonhowmuchasensorchangesitspropertiesovertime,thesefactorsalsoincludethemeasurementaccuracyandtheresponsecharacteristicsofthesensor.Capacitivehumiditysensorsarebasedontheprinciplethatahumidity-sensitivepolymerabsorbsorreleasesmoistureasafunctionoftherelativeam
3、bienthumidity.Becausethismethodisonlyaspotmeasurementatthesensorlocation,andusuallythehumidityofthesurroundingsisthedesiredquantity,thesensormustbebroughtintomoistureequilibriumwiththesurroundingstoobtainaprecisemeasurementvalue.Thisprocessisrealizedbyvarioustransportphenomena(cf.
4、thesectiontitled"Thehousingeffectontheresponsetime"),whichexhibitatimeconstant.Accuracyandresponsetimearethuscloselydependentoneachother,andthedesignofahumiditymeasurementsystembecomesachallenge.2MeasurementaccuracyThetermmeasurementaccuracyofahumiditysensorisunderstoodprimarilyto
5、refertothedeviationofthevaluemeasuredbythesensorfromtheactualhumidity.Todeterminethemeasurementaccuracy,references,suchaschilledmirrorhygrometers,whoseowntolerancemustbetakenintoaccount,areused.Inadditiontothistrivialcomponent,humiditysensorsrequireagiventimeforreachingstablehumid
6、ityandtemperatureequilibrium(thehumidityisafunctionoftemperatureanddecreaseswithincreasingtemperature;adifferencebetweensensorandambienttemperatureleadstomeasurementerrors).Thisresponsetimethushasasignificanteffectonthevaluemeasuredbythesensorandthusonthedeterminedaccuracy.Thistim
