3、pplicabilityofEN1469asa“harmonized”EuropeanStandard,i.e.thedateafterwhichthisstandardmaybeusedforCEmarkingpurposes,issubjecttoanannouncementintheOfficialJournaloftheEuropeanCommunities.TheCommissioninconsultationwithMemberStateshasagreedatransitionperio
4、dfortheco-existenceof“harmonized”EuropeanStandardsandtheircorrespondingnationalstandards(s).Itisintendedthatthisperiodwillcompriseaperiod,usuallyninemonths,afterthedateofavailabilityoftheEuropeanStandard,duringwhichanyrequiredchangestonationalregulation
5、saretobemade,followedbyafurtherperiod,usuallyof12months,fortheimplementationofCEmarking.Attheendofthisco-existenceperiod,thenationalstandard(s)willbewithdrawn.EN1469:2004isthesubjectoftransitionalarrangementsagreedundertheCommissionmandate.IntheUK,there
6、arenocorrespondingnationalstandards.TheUKparticipationinitspreparationwasentrustedtoTechnicalCommitteeB/545,Naturalstone,whichhastheresponsibilityto:—aidenquirerstounderstandthetext;—presenttotheresponsibleinternational/Europeancommitteeanyenquiriesonth
