1、ABSTRACTInthisdissertation,wefirstlyinvestigatetheoutputperformancesofNd:YAGandNd:YV04laserunderthermallyboostedpumping/directpumpingcombinedwiththerateequationsoffour-levelsystem,usinganall-solid—statequasi—continuoustunableTi:Sapphirelaserastheirpumpsource.Thebettermodematchi

2、ngbetweenthepumpandoscillatingbeamwasobtainedbytheoptimizationoflasercavity,andthehigh.efficiency1.06一Ⅲnand1.3-lainoutputwereachieved.Comparativeresultsobtainedbytraditionalpumpingat808nm.Throughtheexperiments,werealizethatthe808.amtraditionalpumpingcanachievehighoptical-to—opt

3、icalefficiency,whileintroduceplentifulheatgeneration.Thethermallyboostedpumping/directpumpinghashigherslopeefficiencyandlowerheatgeneration,butwithloweroptical..to..opticalconversionefficiencyowingtothelowabsorptioncoefficiency.Basingontheexperimentresults,webringforwardanovelp

4、umpingschemenamedsyntheticalpumpingbycombiningtheadvantagesofthesetwopumpings.Tolookforwardtothebalancepointbetweentheweaknesses(plentifulheatgenerationandlowabsorptioncoefficient)oftwopumpingmethods,expectantly,syntheticalpumpingwilldecreaseheatgenerationgreatlywhilereducetheo

5、utputpowerslightly,whichisadvantageoustothelaseroperation,especiallyforthehighpowersolid。statelasers.Wemainlydosomeworkasfollows:1.Basingontherateequationsoffour-levelsystem,wededucetheoutputperformancesoflaserspumpedbythermallyboostedpumping/directpumping,besides,wecalculateth

7、theincidentpumppowerwas2.1Wwhiletheabsorbedpumppowerof1.7WjWegainedthe1.21Woutputof1064nm,withoptical-to-opticalconversionefficiencyof57.6%,thethresholdandtheslopeefficiencyinabsorbedpumppowerwas75.3%and200mW,respectively.Moreover,wemeasuredtheheatgenerationinthelasermediumunde
