3、yandbandwidthguarantees.Inthispaper,westudytheeffectsofatokenbuckettraf®cshaperatthesourceonthetransmissioncharacteristicsofMotionPictureExpertsGroup(MPEG)compressedvideostreamsovertheGS.Wedevelopananalyticalmodelofthetraf®cshaper,andalsocarryoutnumericalsimulationofth
4、etransmissionperformanceusingMPEGtracedatafromseveraldifferentvideosequences.Theanalyticalmodelandthenumericalsimulationresultsareinexcellentagreement.Ourstudyprovidesatechniquetodeterminethetokenbucketparametersthathavetobespeci®edwhilesettingupaGS¯ow.Ourstudyrevealst
