4、sActOpinionProcedure(describedbelowatp.10)andtogeneralexplanationsofcomplianceresponsibilitiesandpotentialliabilitiesundertheFCPA.ThisbrochureconstitutestheDepartmentofJustice'sgeneralexplanationoftheFCPA.U.S.firmsseekingtodobusinessinforeignmarketsmustbefamiliarwiththeFCPA.Ingeneral,theFCPApro

5、hibitscorruptpaymentstoforeignofficialsforthepurposeofobtainingorkeepingbusiness.Inaddition,otherstatutessuchasthemailandwirefraudstatutes,18U.S.C.§1341,1343,andtheTravelAct,18U.S.C.§1952,whichprovidesforfederalprosecutionofviolationsofstatecommercialbriberystatutes,mayalsoapplytosuchconduct.Th
