5、nctionaltheorytofollowoxygenvacancymigrationinGDC.WereportactivationenergiesforvariousoxygenvacancymigrationpathwaysinGDC.Oxygenvacancyformation3+andmigrationwereevaluatedforfirst,second,andthirdnearestneighborpositionstoaGd3+4+ion.Duetothecomparableion

6、icradiiofGdandhostCeions,thefirstnearestneighborsitewithrespecttothedopantcationisfoundtobethemostfavorableoxygenvacancyformationsite.Themigrationpathwaywherethevacancymigratesfromasecondtofirstnearestneighborisfoundtobemostfavorable.Thecalculatedactivat

7、ionenergiesforoxygenvacancymigrationinGDCarecomparedagainstthereportedmeasuredandcalculatedvaluesfromtheliterature.ThisworkwillprovideafoundationforthedevelopmentofakineticlatticeMonteCarlomodelforvacancydiffusioninGDC,whichwillimprovetheunderstandingof
