3、etencehavebeenthekeyfocus．Andalso，listeningabilityandoralabilityarethemostimportantcompetenceinreallife，inwhichthelisteningisthepremiseofthecommunication．Videotakesanindispensablepartinlanguageteachingclass，inwhichsomescholarsthinkvisualcomponentsofspokentextscontributetostudents’co

4、mprehensionoflisteninginformation．However,becauseofsomepracticalreasonsandthebeliefthatinvolvingthevideointhetestmayassessthepragmaticability,videotextsarerarelyusedinthelanguagelisteningtesting．Inthisstudy,aquasi-experimentaldesignwasusedtoexaminewhethertheuseofvideotextsinEnglishl

5、anguagetestingwouldaffecttheperformanceoftest—takers．What’Smore，questionnaireswereusedtoexaminethetest—takers’attitudestowardtheuseofvideotexts．50studentstookpartintheexperiment，andtheyweredividedintotwoparallelgroupsbasedontheperformanceofthepre—test．Thetwogroupswererandomlyconside

6、redasthecontrolgroupandtheexperimentalgroup，andalsothecontrolgrouponlytookpartintheaudio—onlyEnglishlisteningpost—test，whiletheexperimentalgroupwaspresentedwiththeSalTlelisteningpost—testinthevideochannel．TheIndependentSampleTTestwasusedtocomparetheperformanceofthetwogroups，anditwas

7、foundthattheexperimentalgroupscored7．9％higherthanthecontrolgroupontheoverallpost-test，andthisdifferencewasstatisticallysignificant．Howeverbasedonthequestionnaires，itwasfoundthatthetest—takersheld●’●negativeattitudestowardtheuseofvideotexts．Therefore，theexperimentalresultsshowedthatt
