5、tyaswellasthereusabilityofmodeltransformationrules.ThiscanbeachievedbyapplyingdesignpatternsastheintegrateddevelopmentunitsinMDA,whichraisestwoproblemsofmodelingandmodeltransforming.First,patternsshouldbeusedasintegratedmodelingunits.Second,patternmodelssh
6、ouldbetransformedbyapplyingpatterntransformationrulesbuiltonthepatternunits.Tosolvethesetwoproblems,asolutionistodefinepatternunitmetamodelforeachpatternandtoprovidetheEJBmodeltransformationrulesbasingoneachpatternunitmetamodelrespectively.Inthisway,patter
7、nscanbeusedasintegratedmodelingunitsbyinstantiatingthepatternmetamodelunits,andthenthepatternmodelscanbetransformedintotheEJBmodelsbyapplyingthetransformationrules.ThispaperalsodemonstrateshowtoextendMOF(metaobjectfacility)meta-metamodelstodefinethepattern
