3、opriateQoS.Mostofthecurrentresourcemanagementalgorithmsareconfinedtoasinglelayerofthenetworkprotocolstack,whichleadstoaninferiorperformance.Inthispaper,weproposeajointMAC-PHYlayerresourcemanagementalgorithmforwirelessOFDMnetworks.Thealgorithmaimstomaximizet

4、hesystempowerefficiencygiventhatthefulfillmentoftheQoSaswellasthefairnessisguaranteed.Weformulatetheintegrateddesignofpacketscheduling,subcarrierallocation,andpowercontrolintoaconstrainedoptimizationproblem.Theformulationdefinestheinteractionandcooperationb

5、etweendifferentcomponentsofthealgorithmaswellastheinformationexchangebetweenthePHYandMAClayers.Areduced-complexityschemethatsolvestheoptimizationprobleminpolynomialtimeisthendevelopedbasedonthespecialstructureoftheproblem.Analyticalandnumericalresultswillsh

6、owthattheproposedalgorithmisabletoguaranteethesamedegreeofQoSandfairnessasthefairqueueingsystemsdoinwiredchannels.Meanwhile,thepowerefficiencyandsystemperformancearesignificantlyimprovedcomparedtotraditionalsystemswhereresourcesareallocatedbasedonastrictlay
