2、,fuelconsumingandsoon,andthusbringgreatsocialproblemandtremendouseconomicloss.Inthisdissertation,inallusiontothestatusquooftheurbantrafficandbasedonagenttechnologywhichisanewparadigmofcomputerandartificialintelligence,theintelligenttrafficcontrolproblemisdiscusse
3、dandstudied,whichisexpectedtobeaneffectivemethodtosolvethetrafficproblem.Firstly,thedevelopingstatusoftheagenttechnologyandmulti—agenttechnologyisintroduced,andthecoordinationtechnologyofmulti—agentissummarized.Secondly'thebasicmethodsandthebasicstructuresoftraff
4、iccontrolareintroduced,basedonwhich,anagentbasedurbantrafficsignalcontrolsystemstructureispresented.Thissystemisathree—layerstructure,andincludesfourkindsofagents:intersectionagents,roadsegmentagents,areacontrolagentsandcontrolcenteragents.Inthissystem,thetraffic
5、controlstrategyismadebytheintersectionlayer,relatedagentscommunicatewitheachother,andthusthereliability,thereal—timeflexibilityandtheexpandabilityareimproved.Thirdly,themodelstructuresofeachkindofagentsaredesignedindetail,andthespecialties,functionsandworkingstep
6、sofeachkindofagentsaredescribedandanalyzed;withintroducingintersectionqueuematrix,roadfactormatrix,trafficloadmatrixandgreensignaladjustingmatrix,multi-agentcoordinationtointersectioncongestionandroadspecialincidentsismodeled,andacoordinationalgorithmisputforward
