2、sreceivedincreasedattentionlatelyduetotheirpotentialsforapplicationsassignalamplifiers,wavelengthconverters,andali-opticalsignalprocessors.Currently,FOPA伽bedesignedwithconventionaldispersionshiftedfiber(DsF)andhighlynonlineardispersion—shiftedfiber(HNL-DSF).Ithassmallampli
3、fiedbandwidthwhentheFOPAisdesignedwithDSEInordertobroadenitsamplificationbandwidth,acascadeconfigurationwithperiodicdispersioncompensationcomposedofconventionalDSFandsinglemodefiber(sMF)isusedinthispaper.ThentheFOPAisstudiedasfollows:Firstly,combiningthefour-wave-mixingcou
4、plingequations,theexpressionofoutputpower,phaseandgainofthesignalandidlerfortheDSF+SMFdualpumpFOPAarederivedwhenconsideringthedifferentboundarycondition.Meanwhile,thephase-matchingmethodwhichusingthepositivesecond-orderdispersionofSMFtocompensatethephase·mismatchcausedbyth
5、enegativefourth-orderdispersionofDSFispresented.AndtheoptimalSMFlengthisobtained.Theamplifiedbandwidthdesignedbythislengthcanbeefficientlybroadened.Secondly,usingthefour-wave-mixingpowercouplingequations,theDSF+SMFdualpumpFOPAissimulated.Theresultsshow,fora血edDSFlength,con
6、sistingoftwoequalsegments,andusingtheoptimalSMFlengthtocompensatethedispersioncanefficientlybroadentheamplificationbandwidth.Itfurthershowsthatalargerbandwidthcanbeobtainedbyusingmulti-segmentscompensationforthesameDSFlength.Other,longerDSFlength,largerpumppowercanobtainla
